Adding Prebiotics to Your Child’s Diet

      Generally you could just simply adjust for the child’s weight relative to a normal adult, where 4 grams daily is a recommended daily dosage. However, we know that people who don’t get enough fiber in their diet, or those interested in weight management benefits, can be taking 8 to 12 grams or more, so this is a very rough generality. Our best advice is to just start out slow, as little as 1/2 gram, and monitor the child’s results. Quickly getting up to a couple of grams a day would not be uncommon or detrimental. Hope this helps.

    I have done a lot of research and have read many different things on this subject! How do you, personally feel about me giving my 15 month old a prebiotic supplement? Her nutrition intake is very advanced and complex when it comes to variety and health! My little one’s system doesn’t tend to be sensitive at all. Thanks so much for you time!

    Babies are not suppose to have allergies , eczema or gas. To get probiotics whether in food or supplement might be one of the best things you can give your baby.

      Prebiotic fiber is just fiber, no different than any fiber you get from any source of food, except that it is the specific kind of fiber, from chicory root, that feeds the good bacteria in the gut. All prebiotics are fiber, but not all fiber is a source of prebiotics. Even those that are, have varying degrees of prebiotic fiber in them. So how long do you plan on feeding your children ? all people of all ages need fiber in their diet, and what better way to get them the fiber they need, while making it gut healthy, prebiotic fiber for life. Prebiotin is especially valuable in getting the needed fiber in your children’s diet in a simple and effective way. Put it in their drink or their food and they wont even know that it is there. But you will, when their health benefits.

    Can you give a probiotic at the same time as inuline? Or is there no need. My high functioning autistic son has been on a probiotic for over a year, however I’m hearing so much good things about prebiotic and inuline. He is 5 and weighs 19kg, I’m thinking of staying with a teaspoon of powder daily in his orange juice. Do u recommend and other supplements to help with the inuline.
