When Dr. Jackson developed Prebiotin, he recognized the benefits of prebiotic fiber for weight loss/weight management. So he wanted a separate product to offer to differentiate between the 2 purposes, but he didn't want something that added a number of unnecessary ingredients that wouldn't actually benefit the user of the product, and made it appear like most other weight loss gimmicks on the market today. He realized that plain Prebiotin was all people really needed to benefit their weight management. He just had to include the messaging that for weight management benefits, you just needed to increase the daily dosages of the plain Prebiotin prebiotic fiber. So he decided rather than changing the product, he would just change the label and express these differences on the product label to inform our customers of this fact.

Prebiotin has always sold Prebiotin weight management as a separate product, but it has always been Prebiotin plain fiber, identical to what you have received in the plain jar, or the stick packs. But this has added confusion for certain customers, and has always been something that we have had to address separately. At this point in time, to hopefully eliminate the confusion, we are discontinuing the weight management labeled product and will continue to sell plain Prebiotin for all the great reasons we have always offered Prebiotin in the past.

Usage Instructions for Weight Management Benefits

Prebiotin Weight Management is designed to be used with every weight loss or obesity treatment program. Our prebiotic formula is all natural and dissolves easily in any liquid or food. Remember, Prebiotin weight management is just plain Prebiotin taken at higher dosages.

Prebiotin prebiotic fiber can be mixed in any food or liquid, hot or cold. (Hot or room temperature preferred). Put it in any beverage, sprinkle it on your food, the options are limited only to your imagination, since there is very little taste with our plain Prebiotin. When dissolved it is barely perceptible, if at all. 

Recommended Dosage:

  • Week One: 1/2 scoop taken once a day for 1 week.
  • Week Two: 1/2 scoop taken twice a day, at least 6 hours apart, for 1 week.
  • Week Three: 1 level scoop in the AM and 1/2 scoop in the PM for 1 week.
  • Week Four and Ongoing: 1 level scoop twice or more a day, at least 6 hours apart.

4.1 grams (1 scoop) is the minimum recommended dosage. We advise starting out slow, 1 or 2 grams at most, and work up to between 4 - 8 grams over time. If weight management benefits are what you are looking for, 8 - 12 grams, or more per day is the level you need to be working up to and maintaining. Our clinical studies all use approx. 16 grams per day in their research. Government recommended levels of fiber in our diets daily are between 25 and 35 grams approx. for women and men. If we don't get enough basic fiber in our diets through our food, Prebiotin is the BEST way to get that added fiber, while also providing the highest quality prebiotic fiber available, to benefit your good gut health.

At the higher levels, you would certainly want to spread your intake out across different times of the day, but there are no rules as to when and how you take it. Try to be consistent with the timing each day, as your good bacteria will look forward to being fed daily. There are no concern of interactions with food and other medications, and if you take a good quality probiotic, take Prebiotin at the same time to provide the food that probiotic bacteria needs to grow. But otherwise its all up to you and what works for you.
